Covid-19 is a multi-systemic condition and at least a third of patients discharged from hospital require assistance to regain physical ability, functional skills and/or address significant neurological needs.

Symptoms requiring specialist rehabilitation can include fatigue, lung dysfunction, critical illness polyneuropathy, physical weakness, such as muscle atrophy and myopathy, dysphagia following weaning from tracheostomy, as well as cognitive impairment. Rehabilitation is holistic and multidisciplinary including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Neuropsychology.
